Abstract

Type 1 diabetes occurs when one’s immune system, the body’s system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists believe that type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease. Regarding the increased prevalence of patients with type 1diabetes world over and the most recent statistics of all diabetic patients, to be 463 million people, in the year 2019, and that around 10% of them are type 1 diabetics, there are 46.3 million people with diabetes type 1 in the world. The author applied a natural, safe, and holistic method of healing to enhance beta cells’ regeneration and activity leading to lower the patients’ need for Insulin. This study (2009 – 2020) was done to evaluate the efficacy of homeopathic remedies in patients with T1D. Among 175 diabetic patients seen at the clinic and online 18 patients are affected with T1D ,i.e. 10.28% .  Their rubrics were analyzed by the internationally used diagnostic software, Radar , and their proper remedies were selected and prescribed. The cases were followed up to assess the efficacy and duration of action of the prescribed remedies. Their blood sugars were monitored 3-5 times a day. Their HgA1c were tested every 2-3 months. Their insulin was continued, as prescribed by their M.D.’s. However as soon as the patients’ fasting blood sugars started coming down or they became hypoglycemic their parents or the patients were guided to lower their daily insulin. Whenever they cut taking homeopathic remedies, the numbers rose again and so did their need to insulin, confirming the true effects of the remedies in the patients. The patients experienced remarkable changes in their behavior, showing the holistic effects of the homeopathic remedies. Clinical trials are suggested to facilitate its GLOBAL  APPLICATION.

Introduction :Type 1 diabetes occurs when one’s  immune system, the body’s system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists believe that type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease. Studies such as Trial Net, are working to pinpoint causes of type 1 diabetes and possible ways to prevent or slow the disease. The author has observed positive family history of stressful  parental  behavior in most cases , rheumatoid arthritis of mother and celiac disease of father of one of his type 1 patients.

Regarding the increased prevalence of patients with type 1diabetes world over and the most recent statistics of all diabetic patients, to be 463 million people, in the year 2019, and that around 10% of them are type 1 diabetics, there are 46.3 million people with diabetes type 1 in the world. The author applied a natural, safe, complementary and holistic method of healing to enhance beta cells’ activity and to lower the need of patients for Insulin. This study (2009 – 2016) was done to evaluate the efficacy of homeopathic remedies in patients with T1D.

Materials and Methods

Among 175 diabetic patients seen at the clinic, 18 patients with T1D ,i.e. 10.29% were admitted. Their first interviews and physical examinations were carried out, taking about 60 minutes for each patient. All but one were under treatment with insulin, and that person was referred to an endocrinologist to start insulin.  Their rubrics were analyzed by the internationally used diagnostic software, Radar 8.1, and their proper remedies were selected and prescribed. The cases were followed up to assess the efficacy and duration of action of the prescribed remedies. Their blood sugars were monitored 3-5 times a day. Their A1c were tested every 2-3 months. Their insulin was continued, as prescribed by their M.D.’s. However as soon as the patients’ fasting blood sugars ( FBS) started coming down or became hypoglycemic their parents or the patients who  were guided on how to lower their daily insulin, diminished their insulin beginning from the morning dose. Syzygium was added to the patients’ remedies during the last 2 years of the study with remarkable results. It was prescribed separately based on their FBS. Patients who were seen later than their supposed follow-up appointments and did not take homeopathic remedies on time, reported increased numbers and more need to insulin.

Results

Among the 18 patients, 15 cases, ie. 83.33% of them experienced better numbers of FBS , after taking homeopathic remedies. And 77.77% experienced better HgA1c . Juvenile patients’ parents reported better behavior and more compliance in their type 1children, besides better numbers of FBS and A1c. Non-juvenile patients reported more inner calmness and experienced better self- control. These are typically the holistic effects of constitutional remedies, since such remedies can affect the limbic systems in their brains through changes in neurotransmitters.  The limbic system is a part of one’s brain, said to be like a window, through which one looks at the outer world.

Conclusion

The results show a strong association between the use of homeopathic remedies and the lowering of FBS, and HgbA1c, and their need for insulin.  Their increased need for insulin after discontinuing the remedies, or occurring a delay to take remedies on time is another scientific sign of the true effects of the homeopathic remedies. The patients experienced remarkable changes in their behavior, showing the holistic effects of the homeopathic remedies. Considering insulin resistance after long daily use, homeopathy can be considered as an effective and safe method for T1D patients. Thus the author suggests doing more studies, especially controlled clinical trials to further demonstrate the efficacy of the remedies in these patients, including homeopathic remedies in the patients’ regimen.
